As business owners, we all strive to evolve, to keep up with change to ensure that we are relevant in a very fast paced environment these days. If you don’t keep up, then you will probably watch all your competitors move quickly past you.
Technology is one area where change is certainly a constant. Fifteen years ago, EB introduced mobile hand held devices into all of our vehicles, which allowed the seamless flow of data from our vehicles to the customer. We were at that time, one of the very few Transport companies in Australia that invested in this technology.
Whilst time seems to have gotten away from us, EB has continued to invest heavily in technology related products and platforms to make us a better business and company. The investment has been made on two fronts, the first to deliver real value and higher customer service levels to our clients, but also internally, to improve our systems, our process and make us accountable to the very high standards we set ourselves.
So we are pleased to announce our investment in a new Mobile Phone Application that will slowly replace many of the mobile devices that our drivers are using today. This initiative will create many initial benefits for EB, allowing easy deployment and a more user friendly platform for our Drivers to use in the field.
More importantly, this application will create a foundation to allow us greater flexibility around implementing new features that will benefit our clients in the future.
Whilst I write this blog, I have had a little time to reflect on how much we have evolved as a business. I think of times where we have hit some roadblocks, but where our company and people have instigated small changes or come up with ideas that just make us better.
We hope that the work and ideas around this new application are one of those moments.
